Department of Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics is one of the academic units in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences, which has experienced and well qualified staff with strong research and publication profile. The department was established in 2011 and currently it has 13 academic and two technical staff members, of whom two are with academic rank of Professor, four associate professor, six assistant professor, one lecturer and two BSc. Five of the academic staffs are PhD holders in the speciality areas of epidemiology of infectious diseases, public health, Veterinary epidemiology and economics, and Quantitative veterinary epidemiology. Besides, three of the academic staffs are Ph.D. candidate in the areas of veterinary public health and infectious diseases. The department has four active postgraduate programs: Ph.D. in Veterinary Epidemiology, Ph.D. in Veterinary Public Health, MSc in Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics and MPH with Speciality in Veterinary public Health. Besides these, the department hosts 5th and 6th year DVM students and coordinate their experience and thesis works.
