The structure of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences contains Dean and Vice Dean Offices under which Eight Coordinating Offices, Six Departments, One Teaching Veterinary Hospital, and One Animal Farm are functioning actively. The coordinating Offices are Education Quality Assurance and Audit, Postgraduate, Research and Publication, Registrar, Research and Publication, Technology Transfer, Exam Center, and Community Service Offices. The six Departments are Veterinary of Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Sport Science, and Statistics Department.
Duties and Responsibilities of Dean/Directors/Vice Dean/Heads: Leading the overall activities of the college including the academic, research, community service and technology transfer pillar duties in higher education. Managing the administrative and academic performance based on the action plan with the college responsible academic unit council members. Develop strategic plan and create national and international partners and collaborations.
Academic Unit Council (AUC): The AUC is the highest body of the College for academic, research, technology transfer and community service matters. Without prejudice to powers and responsibilities that may be conferred upon it by the Senate or the President, the AUC shall: Set guidelines to facilitate the teaching-learning process; Deliberate and decide upon all appointment and promotion cases presented to it through the DC; Review grades and determine academic status of students; Perform such other functions relevant to the betterment of the teaching-learning process and promotion of research and serving the community in the College. The AUC structure includes the department heads, coordinators, farm managers, and hospital directors.
Duties and Responsibilities of heads: Prepare and initiate the preparation of plans, programs and budgets for the activities of the department and closely supervise the implementation of approved plans, programs and budgets ; Direct the teaching, research, technology transfer and community service activities of the department; Follow-up and implement the decisions and recommendations of the AUC and the DC; Prepare up-to-date reports on the teaching. Research and community services and technology transfer. In general, heads engaged in routine activities of the academic, research, community service, technology transfer, and administrative issues.
Duties and Responsibilities of Coordinators: Prepare and initiate the preparation of plans and budgets for the activities of the coordination office in collaboration with department heads and submit them to the AUC for review and endorsement. Coordinate activities in charge of the coordinating office. Prepare up-to-date reports for the activities that the office is in charge of.
